The Team Legit Movement was officially inaugurated yesterday in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency amidst a massive turnout of members from across Ajegunle and the diaspora.
According to organizers, the movement was established to promote democracy, entrench quality leadership, and enhance the quality of life of citizens. Its core strength, they noted, lies in its youth membership which cuts across all communities in Ajegunle.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the CSP Afolabi Salau the Divisional Police Officer of Layeni Police Station who represented the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu. IGP Disu was also among those honored with an award during the ceremony.
Other notable speakers at the event were Mr. Emmanuel Etu and Mr. Goddy Odidi, who spoke on civic engagement and responsible leadership.
Hon. Francis Barthlomew Omowale Chima, popularly known as OMOBARCA, attended the event as a Special Guest. He was also presented with an Award of Excellence for Human Capital Development, Philanthropy and Exemplary Leadership by the leadership of Team Legit Movement.
The inauguration featured cultural performances from top Ajegunle musicians. The highlight of the night was a performance by Omojesu, which drew loud ovations from the crowd. In appreciation of his performance, Hon. Chima pledged to gift the artiste a 2019 Lexus Jeep by next year, God willing, after electoral victory. Other performing artistes were also rewarded with cash gifts running into hundreds of thousands of naira.
In further demonstration of support for the movement, Hon. Chima donated ₦2,000,000 (Two Million Naira) to Team Legit Movement. He commended the organizers for a well-coordinated and peaceful event.
He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to the ideals of “Leadership with Value” and declared that “Ajegunle is our pride.”
