MY NEW YEAR MESSAGE TO NIGERIANS
I, Hon. Emakpor Odogu, Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Community Development, wish to dedicate this message to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the leader who’s steering Nigeria towards prosperity!
Kudos, Mr. President! Your bold economic reforms have yielded unprecedented results;
First time in 20 years, No fuel scarcity or price hikes during an end of year festive season. Rather we experienced availability of all refined petroleum products with significant reduction in prices. I have been around the oil and Gas industry since 2007 so I speak with absolute precision. Diesel that was sold for #1,100 in November 2025 came down to #945 per liter in December and price has remained so till date. Same goes for PMS.
- Drop in prices of essential commodities like rice, beans, garri. Garri that was sold for about #3,000 for a basket came to less than#1,500. People bought rice for less than 50k a bag of 50kg- a welcome relief for Nigerians.
- The Naira appreciated against other foreign currencies – a sign of economic stability.
- Reduced travel expenses during the Yuletide- more smiles on Nigerians’ faces.
- Fewer road mishaps compared to previous years- a safer Nigeria for all.
- increase in external reserves. Hitting $46.7 billion an all time high in 7 years boosting investors confidence in Nigeria’s economy.
- Focus on infrastructure development – roads, bridges, and more through the Renewed Hope for More Agenda.
- Commitment to food security – empowering farmers, boosting local production.
- Improved security measures – working towards a safer nation through synergy with the Donald Trump led American Government.
Mr. President, your leadership is making a difference. The journey’s not over, but this progress is worth celebrating.
