The Chief Executive Officer of M7 Petroleum Services Nigeria Limited,Chief John Okorie popularly known as “M7 ” has called on Nigerians to avoid diesel and fuel tanker accidents, stressing that scooping fuel or diesel when an accident occurs could be risky.
I watched a viral video of a diesel tanker accident that happened in the Liverpool area of Oshodi-Apapa road in Lagos State where Nigerians were scooping fuel in jerry gallons without minding the risk.
Poverty and hunger caused it but we must not put our lives at risk, either. The owner of the diesel tanker has also lost money. I’m into oil and gas, and I know the risk of this business.
If it were a fuel tanker, many people would have been roasted to death, this is not the government’s mistake but the Nigerians’. It was a brake failure on the driver of the diesel tanker. Good Nigerians must sympathize with the owner not stealing by putting their lives on the line.
Such incidents occurred and many Nigerians were roasted to death in different parts of the country. We need to learn from the previous mistakes of Nigerians.
