The compound of Hon. Stephen Ighomena Irebia, FCA, in Festac Town was a hub of social activity on Saturday, 7th February 2026, when the indigenes of Orie–Irri, his country home, living in and around the Lagos environs, paid him a courtesy visit.

The powerful delegation, comprising notable and influential men and women, was ably led by its Past President (Emeritus), Chief Efemena Monday Owah. It was a joyful day filled with enthusiasm, warmth, and camaraderie.

Speaking on the objective of the visit, the highly venerated Chief Efemena Owah explained that the august visit was to honour Hon. Irebia, who was made a Patron at the last Annual General Meeting (Conference) of Orie Worldwide in August 2025—an achievement he described as no small feat. This recognition makes him the second Patron from the Western Zone, the same zone that produced the Grand Patron, High Chief Dr. Godwin Onini, the OKPURE of Irri Kingdom. He noted that this was a great honour to the Western Zone, where both Patrons reside.

Chief Owah added that the delegation had come to felicitate with Hon. Irebia and to pray for God’s guidance, acknowledging that the role of Patron is both tasking and prestigious. He expressed confidence that Hon. Irebia’s entry into the Community Patronhood would further promote love, unity, and development within Orie.

In his response, Hon. Irebia encouraged members of the community to continue living in peace and harmony wherever they reside, emphasising that strong bonds and unity of purpose will help Orie secure her rightful place anywhere in the world.

Chief Owah also reminded Hon. Stephen Ighomena Irebia, FCA, that the office of Patron comes with enormous responsibility—one that demands driving community development both within and beyond their locality.

In closing, Hon. Irebia expressed profound gratitude for the honour bestowed on him. He described the visit as a reminder of the collective expectation for growth and development in Orie across various spheres. He specially acknowledged the Patrons, particularly the Grand Patron, High Chief Dr. Godwin Onini, for his steadfast leadership in the community. He also charged the visitors to encourage their children to pursue education, which he described as the true light.
