JOT, Malik, and Jay:Isoko Nation Is One, Structure, Representation And System Come First-Odidi Godday Aguriase(OGA)
I laugh at different social media comments when people say, ‘Why, sir?’ Itaiko Ikpokpo Malik is contesting for the Delta South Senatorial District in 2027.
The Isoko people couldn’t learn from the 2003 politics, as Senator Stella Omu lost to Senator James Manager, who stayed in office for 20 years.
How many Isoko people in 2023 actually believed that Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas would win the Senatorial seat under the All Progressives Party(APC)? They were not the same followers in the old PDP who were avoiding those who joined the APC in 2023. Those who joined APC were tagged as enemies of the Isoko nation.
The Delta South Senatorial District is not a small position,an election that needs funds to campaign and mobilize people to vote and protect their votes.
The Delta South Senatorial District is free for any Isoko person to contest with other tribes that make up the district.
Isoko APC must wake up from the slumber and put their house together,we must not hate anyone who supports their aspirant on social media platforms.
Followers have interests and aspirants have their own interests too.
At the political peak, many people hated the APC in Delta State in 2023, Sir. Itiako Ikpokpo defected from the PDP to the APC and supported candidates who were contesting for different political positions under the APC and he was criticized on different social media platforms as a betrayer.
If you watch those supporting Malik and JOT on social media platforms, both have impacted their followers in one way or another.
Politics in 2027 is testing your popularity and how close to the people, if someone who has consistently done good for you in your low moment, you can’t support an outsider and leave an insider.
Both Malik and JOT have the political credentials to win any political elections as long as their long-term interests align with the people.
In 2023, it was “OJA Isoko” but 2027 is all about quality leadership representation, system, and structure and who stays besides me, I will stay for.
The same people who called me when I was given the Chief Press Secretary to JOT said JOT should not bother about the Senate position in 2023 that Itsekeri person should occupy the position so that Isoko people can secure the seat for the 2031 governorship position are the same people tagging Maik as an enemy.
What could these same people defect to the APC when the same party was written off in Delta State in 2023?
When we went on a campaign at Olomoro town, someone who was based in Lagos from Olomoro town texted me, Brother, you guys wasted effort to campaign there, it was a PDP area not the APC.
You see Nigeria’s politics now, I hardly trust the loyalty of people, any follower or leader can betray at the 11th hour. People support what benefits them directly or indirectly.
There is no cause for alarm, Malik and JOT are not fighting each other, it is just politics,It is supporters creating issues when there is no issue.
The Ijaw people are telling us on social media platforms that the 2031 governorship is what they are interested in, not the Senate, we must not sleep over such a statement.
The last election in the Delta South Senatorial District shows that the Isoko people have more political influence in the ballot box.? We might have fewer wards but the voting strength comes from Isokoland.
Malik served as a former council chairman and in other positions and still maintains his followers to date. He still commands the social media space of supporters. He is a well-established and experienced politician including grassroots sports.
JOT is an experienced and well- established politician who took a risk from the House of Representatives contest to the Delta South Senatorial District ambition, spent money to achieve his present position with the massive support from all tribes that represented the district.
In politics, nobody should be underrated, if not God, those acting like good supporters today were those who wanted to steal the victory of the present Senator at the collation center at Oleh. I was there live, everybody turned to prayer warriors, until God intervened. The same people singing on our mandate we shall stand.
In 2023, nobody wants to hear APC in Delta State,it was not funny,I experienced it.
The goal is for the Isoko nation to move forward.
Delta South is a capital-intensive ambition but new contestants help. Incumbent to wake up to the political reality of the game.
Barr. Jay Ogor is another aspirant vying for the Delta South Senatorial District in 2027 from Isoko North.
He is also the choice of many supporters who have been impacted positively by him.
More aspirants from other tribes that make up the Delta South would be vying for the same position, but the primaries would determine the candidate who would represent the party at the general elections.
Finally, nobody should insult anyone supporting his or her aspirant for the Delta South Senatorial District 2027 in Isokoland.
