Isoko Federal Constituency 2027: Maturity and Campaign-based Issues Adopted With Capacity- Odidi Godday Aguriase(OGA)
What is playing out presently in the Delta South Senatorial District ambition is beyond social media brouhaha and personality attacks.
Those of us who understand national and grassroots politics , indicate that two federal power brokers from Delta State are fighting for political relevance and will slug it out in 2027.
Let me return to the Isoko Federal Constituency matter The House of Representatives ambition is taking a new political dimension, where aspirants are more focused on issue-based campaigns, explaining to constituents why they intend to contest without dragging fellow aspirants into the mud.
I fell in love with Sir. Blessing Obomovo’s style of campaign in the app blue, such a display of political maturity should be studied by other constituents in Delta State and beyond.
When aspirants and supporters focus on issue-based campaigns, it gives room for free and fair primaries that would produce the best candidate for the general elections in 2027.
Sir. Blessing Obomovo is a renowned real estate player who has a good track record in the real estate industry beyond Africa. He has what it takes to represent his people if elected.
Hon.Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko is the present House of Representatives member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, an oil and gas magnate who has also managed his business to date.
His media aide and others have presented his works to the reading public without attacking his fellow aspirants. If issues are posted on social media for clarification, their right to reply comes with maturity, dignity, and honour.
Both personalities are outspoken in public gatherings, debates, and from the same clan.
Nobody is attacking any aspirant on the social media platforms, even those trying to make some negative comments have been cautioned.No ambition is worthy of denting anyone’s image on the social media platforms. Tomorrow is bigger than today.
Hon.Dickson Ebegbare, popularly known as Fineboy is also contesting for the House of Representatives from Isoko South. He slugged it out with Hon.Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko in 2023. The latter won.
He has also indicated interest in the contest for the House of Representatives in 2027 under the APC. In the last election, he contested for SDP. There is a political decorum this time around, maturity politics is playing out. He is an experienced grassroots politician who has been playing politics since his secondary school days to date. He is not a pushover, an aspirant someone who has the game of numbers and interest.
Politics is a game of interest,you play it well, you get what you want,your political ambition should not create issues among supporters fighting dirty on social media platforms.
Before the major political defection of the PDP to the APC in Delta State, Isoko North leaders put their house in order while settling aggrieved persons who felt the system had never carried them along. They played maturity politics ahead of the 2027 elections.
Political individual ambition should not divide us as a people and that is why Isoko North politics should be adopted in Isoko South politics.
It is not a do-or-die affair but letting constituents know why they are contesting for the House of Representatives in 2027.
I wish them all, politics can’t divide us, interest is temporary but the Isoko nation is one indivisible family for life irrespective of our party affiliation and interest.
