OTOR-OWHE/AKIEWHE-OWHE COMMUNITY ENDORSE HER SON SIR. BLDR. BLESSING O. OBOMOVO FOR THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES RACE
ISOKO NORTH & SOUTH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY.
In what began as an invitation to a grand reception in honour of their son Sir Bldr. Blessing Obomovo KSC, MSc, FNIOB, it quietly unfolded into something more profound.
In Otor-Owhe, what was meant to be a celebration soon took on the weight of purpose, as the community came together not just to welcome Sir Bldr. Blessing O. Obomovo, but to openly stand behind his ambition for the House of Representatives seat representing Isoko North and Isoko South Federal Constituency.
There was a certain calm certainty in the gathering and under the leadership of the community president Engr. Wilfred Atunu, alongside his executive and revered elders, words of support were shared with clarity and conviction. His ambition was described as a welcomed and timely development; one that aligns with the aspirations of the people at this moment.
Sealing that collective belief, prayers were offered by Chief ovuwoyen avuakporie Godwin (aka) Dr pijo, the oletu-logbo of owhe clans/ Kingdom, not out of routine, but out of hope. Followed by His hands raised before the people, a symbolic gesture, yet deeply rooted in tradition, sending him forth with blessings and a shared expectation to go and conquer as the primaries draw closer. This didn’t feel staged, it felt owned.
In his brief remarks, Sir Blessing acknowledged the depth of the moment. He expressed sincere gratitude and spoke with a sense of responsibility, recognizing that support from home carries a different kind of weight. He commended the unity of Otor-Owhe, noting that such overwhelming backing is both humbling and motivating.
In the end, what started as a reception became something else entirely different “a declaration, a blessing and a people standing behind their own.”
Because sometimes, before the wider journey begins, home must first speak.
