DELTA SOUTH SENATE SEAT: IKPOKPO REASSURES DELTA IJAW TRADITIONAL RULERS OF INCLUSIVE, UNIFYING REPRESENTATION

As part of his ongoing consultations with key stakeholders across Delta South, senatorial aspirant, Sir Itiako Ikpokpo Malik KSM, has visited the Delta Ijaw Traditional Rulers Forum under the leadership of King Joseph I Timiyan, Chairman of the Forum and Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha Kingdom, reaffirming his commitment to inclusive representation and purposeful leadership.

Addressing the revered monarchs, Ikpokpo stated that his aspiration to represent Delta South in the Senate is driven by the wide gap in effective representation in the last three years.

“I have come to inform you and seek your prayers as fathers of the Ijaw nation in my aspiration to represent Delta South in the Senate.

My decision is borne out of the need to bridge the communication gap in representation. Our district contributes significantly to the economic stability of the nation and the state, we must do more to ensure our voices are heard.

We need a senator who will communicate effectively , legislate on issues affecting us, unite our communities and empower a good number of our people.

In his response, King Timiyan commended Ikpokpo for what he described as a bold and timely move.

“Delta South contributes immensely and truly deserves more in return. With your experience and understanding of governance, we are confident in your capacity to represent the district effectively.”

“You are the first aspirant to formally consult us, and we assure you of our prayers and support. However, we advise that you continue to consult widely, especially with political leaders across the senatorial district.”

The engagement underscores Ikpokpo’s engagement driven approach, anchored on his “C.L.U.E” agenda which focused on Communication, Legislation, Unity, and Empowerment as core pillars for effective and people-centered representation.
