The growing feeling of discontent and senatorial underrepresentation across the eight local government areas of Delta South Senatorial District largely occasioned by a glaring disconnect between our representative and the constituents , my conviction that representation can indeed be better, and my belief in the leadership choices that democracy periodically offers, informed my decision to aspire for the Delta South Senatorial ticket of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Consequently, in line with my philosophy of inclusive leadership engagement and deep-rooted consultations, my team and I , comprising devoted and committed Delta Southerners drawn from the eight local government areas , took our message and vision of purposeful representation across the length and breadth of Delta South Senatorial District. We consulted extensively with leaders, stakeholders, executives, and members of our great party.
In presenting our message of inclusive representation, we assured our people of our commitment to establishing multi-layered channels of communication from day one in office, pursuing the needs and aspirations of our people through effective legislation, fostering unity across the district, and empowering a greater number of our people.
Our promise through the C.L.U.E Agenda resonated strongly with the people. In our movement, many saw renewed hope and the missing link in the representation of Delta South. An overwhelming majority of our party members were eager and genuinely prepared to give our alternative vision a chance. In us, the people saw the CLUE to a Delta South that will take its pride of place.
As proof of my irrevocable commitment to this cause, I obtained the expression of interest and nomination forms of our party, duly completed and submitted them, underwent screening, and was duly CLEARED to contest in the APC primary election for the Delta South Senatorial ticket
On our part, all we desired was a fair contest and a level playing field where the wishes and collective resolve of party members would determine who flies the flag of our great party.
Unfortunately, this was never to be. The dynamics of party politics, entrenched political interests, and sundry power play combined to make the prospect of a free, fair, and credible primary election increasingly elusive and Impossible.
Following extensive consultations with critical stakeholders, respected leaders of our party, political associates, and members of my team, I hereby formally announce my WITHDRAWAL from the contest for the APC Senatorial ticket for Delta South Senatorial District.
As a firm believer in democracy and a committed party man, I remain optimistic about the future of our great party and look forward to a successful outing for the APC and eventual victory in the 2027 general elections.
I am deeply grateful to Almighty God for His grace, preservation, provision, and enablement throughout this period of consultations and engagements.
