Chief John Okorie has charged the newly appointed JAMB Registrar, Professor Segun Aina, to bring purposeful, innovative, transparent, and people-oriented leadership to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), while building on the achievements of previous administrations.

Chief Okorie emphasized that Professor Segun Aina’s position comes with enormous responsibility, considering JAMB’s critical role in determining the academic future of millions of Nigerian students seeking admission into tertiary institutions.

He urged Professor Aina to focus on strengthening the credibility and efficiency of the examination and admission process, improving service delivery, embracing emerging technologies, and ensuring fairness and transparency for all candidates.

According to Chief John Okorie, the new Registrar should not merely maintain existing standards but should strive to raise the bar by introducing reforms that will make JAMB more efficient, accessible, technologically driven, and responsive to the needs of students, parents, and educational institutions.

He also encouraged Professor Segun Aina to study the successes and challenges of his predecessors, preserve what worked, improve areas that require attention, and establish a leadership legacy defined by excellence, accountability, innovation, and measurable results.

Chief Okorie noted that leadership should ultimately be judged by its impact on the people, stressing that every policy and reform introduced under Professor Aina should contribute meaningfully to improving the educational journey of Nigerian students.

He expressed confidence that Professor Segun Aina, with his experience and academic background, can provide the strong leadership required to further strengthen JAMB and contribute to the development of Nigeria’s education sector.

Chief John Okorie therefore called on stakeholders, parents, students, educational institutions, and Nigerians to support the new JAMB leadership while encouraging the Registrar to remain committed to integrity, professionalism, fairness, and service to humanity.

He concluded by wishing Professor Segun Aina a successful tenure and urging him to leave a legacy that will surpass expectations and set a new benchmark for quality leadership at JAMB.
