Hon. Francis Bartholomew Omowale Chima, popularly known as Omobarca, has received recognition for his contributions to human capital development and philanthropy in Ajegunle, reaffirming his commitment to the people and his determination to participate actively in the 2027 elections.

Omobarca, who is the NDC House of Representatives candidate for the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections, made the remarks during an event organized by the Team Legit Movement in Ajegunle.

The politician expressed appreciation to the organizers for the honour, describing the recognition as an encouragement to continue supporting initiatives that positively impact the lives of residents, particularly young people and vulnerable members of the community.

As part of his support for the movement, Omobarca pledged ₦2 million to Team Legit Movement. Some of his friends and associates also pledged their support towards the activities and development of the movement.

Speaking to supporters at the gathering, Omobarca urged eligible voters to ensure that they obtain and protect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing that active participation in the electoral process remains important ahead of the 2027 elections.

“I am not a baby in politics. Gone are the days when they were deceiving us,” Omobarca declared, urging his supporters not to be intimidated by political developments or negative comments from his opponents.

He further encouraged his supporters to remain focused and confident, maintaining that political participation requires courage, organization and commitment.

According to him, various names and descriptions have been used by some individuals in an attempt to discourage people from supporting his political ambition.

“They have called me different names, all to discourage you from supporting me. Don’t be afraid. We shall defend our votes,” he said.

Omobarca also challenged his political opponents to point to their tangible contributions to Ajegunle, insisting that his own impact can be seen across different parts of the community.

“They should tell us what they have done for Ajegunle that Omobarca has not done. Our impacts are everywhere in Ajegunle,” he stated.

The event also attracted Ajegunle-based artistes, community stakeholders and notable speakers, who added colour and energy to the gathering while highlighting the importance of community participation, youth empowerment and political engagement.

The gathering provided an opportunity for supporters and community members to celebrate Omobarca’s humanitarian activities while discussing the need for stronger grassroots participation ahead of the 2027 elections.

With the 2027 political season gradually gaining momentum, Omobarca’s message centered on confidence, grassroots organization, voter participation and the need for residents to evaluate political candidates based on their contributions and connection with the people.

The event ended with renewed calls for unity among supporters of the Team Legit Movement and greater participation by eligible voters in the democratic process.
